Barton is an aspiring writer. He has had a lifetime love science fiction and fantasy. He has completed one terrible novel so far, and is hoping that the next one is a little less shitty than the current one.
In addition to speculative fiction, he is an avid homebrewer. He has been making beer since he was 12 years old; standing beside his dad stirring in every hop addition. Along with a few other zealous Zymurgists, he helped to form the Steel City Brewers.
